2018 Mission Trip
St. Joseph Parish is partnering with Cross Catholic Outreach to sponsor a Family Mission Trip to Guatemala in July 2018.
Mission trips change lives. To visit people who have so little, but love so much, is a beautiful experience. Just as we have so much to share with them, they have much more to teach us. No one who is part of this Mission Trip will return home as they left!
Our Mission Team is expected to finance the trip and the mission project that will be undertaken. During this trip Missionaries from St Joseph will be providing safe, durable housing. Unable to afford housing, Guatemala's rural poor cobble together crude shelters of sticks, plastic tarps and tin sheets. Imagine living in a makeshift shack with dirt floors that offers no protection against wind or rain. We ask you prayerfully consider how you can help in this life changing event either through your prayers, financially or both. Your financial contributions are tax deductible. You may donate online using the Mission Trip Guatemala button to the left, provide a donation in person at the Parish Office or mail it to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 511 North Memorial Drive, Prattville, Alabama, 36067. Please make all checks payable to St. Joseph Catholic Church with the following in the Note/Memo "2018 Guatemala Mission Trip". Everything helps us achieve our goal, whether it's $10.00, $100.00 or a prayer, it is all appreciated. Click on the image to donate now.
Thank you for being such an important part in our lives. We appreciate your prayers and support big and small in this life changing experience. May God bless you and watch over you and your family.

“At first I was going on this trip because I love to help people. I never knew that it would change my entire outlook on life. This trip helped me appreciate a lot more like: the availability of my Church, my education, and my family”.
“Although 10 of us travelled to Guatemala – the entire parish is responsible for being the hands of Christ to the people we served”.
St Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
